About the Journal

Jurnal Riset Komunikasi (JURKOM) (Online ISSN 2615-0948) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Asosiasi Pendidikan Tinggi Ilmu Komunikasi (ASPIKOM) Wilayah Riau. The journal aims to advance theoretical, methodological, and empirical contributions in Communication Science through interdisciplinary approaches and to strengthen scholarly discourse on contemporary communication issues.

Starting from February 2025, JURKOM focuses on digital communication and media studies, emphasizing both critical and applied perspectives on emerging trends, challenges, and innovations in the field. The journal publishes original research articles and critical review papers covering, but not limited to, digital media ecosystems, online journalism practices, digital political communication, social media and public discourse, digital marketing and branding strategies, organizational communication in networked environments, cross-cultural communication in digital spaces, and emerging communication technologies.

JURKOM is published biannually (February and August) and employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process. The journal has an estimated publication timeline of approximately 8–16 weeks from initial submission to final publication. All manuscripts are submitted, processed, and managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS), ensuring a transparent and standardized editorial workflow. All articles are published in English to support international visibility and scholarly exchange. The journal welcomes submissions from international authors and invites reviewers from diverse academic backgrounds.

JURKOM has been accredited at SINTA 3 level by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, with accreditation validity from Volume 5 No. 1 (2022) to Volume 9 No. 2 (2026).

JURKOM has been indexed in Google Scholar, GARUDA, and Indonesia OneSearch, dimensions and is currently under evaluation for inclusion in additional international indexing databases. The journal is also a member of the Asosiasi Penerbit Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi Indonesia (APJIKI) under MoU No. 242/MOU/APJIKI/II/2023.
